Data handling
PC DAS - data acquisition systems
data acquisition, storage, processing and presentation coordinated by a central PC-based reporting system
PC DAS
Efficient and resilient data systems which act as overall plant operator interface. DAS provide the operators with a supervisory tool to access Instantaneous Data, Historical Trends, Calculations, Audit Trails and Emissions Reports. Automation and redundancy can be configured as required.
Overview
PC DAS systems provide the primary interface for operators to interrogate their CEMS and process. Windows based systems offer the users a familiar and customisable environment in which to freely navigate.
Instantaneous Data
Scalable forms, graphs and gauges which allow a snapshot of the process as it currently exists. Tools for changing units, scale, averaging periods are configurable.
Historical Trends
The ability to scroll in time to follow and anticipate trends in the process, and to examine past performance and events. Systems will allow external plant signals to be input and logged alongside emissions values to get a holistic picture of operations and emissions together.
Data processing & normalisation
Environmental authorities and monitoring conventions require data to be processed or “normalised” for consistency and regularity of reporting. These are mathematical functions automatically carried out by the DAS.
QAL 3 reporting
Emissions reporting calls for a record of on-going quality assurance and audit. When analysers are challenged by traceable standards, the response and tolerance is recorded, viewable and reportable.
Emissions reporting
The final end-game is to generate a report of time-based emissions for submittal to governing and regulatory bodies.
