Multipoint Sampling System - MSS
In applications where discontinuous monitoring is acceptable by Regulatory Bodies, periodic automated sampling is a sufficient watchdog, or where multiple processes are not used continuously, then a MSS can offer a solution to reduce capital cost of analysis system.
A time-shared switching system can be anything from a simple, manually actuated 2/3-way valve for switching between two sample points, to an array of valves with heating, bypass, calibration, sample skip and data logging.
Smart communications and PLC driven logic can provide intelligent and automated control for multiple sample points. Sample bypass can improve response times of the system so that sample dead-volumes are eliminated. Depending on the measured parameters and proces conditions, cold switching or hot switching can be considered. Gas calibration pathways can be incorporated to ensure all sample lines can be checked and even individually calibrated.
